British TV Actress Briony McRoberts Dies After Being Hit by London Tube Train

According to published reports, British television actress Briony McRoberts, wife of Downton Abbey's David Robb, died after being hit by a Tube train at Fulham Broadway station in London on Wednesday morning, July 17. She was 56.

McRoberts is well known for her role as 'Sam Hagen' in the TV series Take the High Road. She played 'Caroline' in Mr. Palfrey of Westminster, 'Charlotte' in Sink or Swim, 'Esther Bronte' in The Crezz, and 'Anna' in Bachelor Father, in addition to appearances on The Bill, Heartbeat, Taggart, Doctors, Harry and the Wrinklies, Screen Two, Brush Strokes, The Professionals, The New Adventures of Lucky Jim, Diamonds, Butterflies, Mystery!: Malice Aforethought, Strangers, Rooms, Comedy Playhouse and The Man Outside.

McRoberts's feature film credits include Peter Pan, The Pink Panther Strikes Again and Edge of Sanity.

The actress has also appeared onstage in the West End. She starred as 'Wendy Darling' in Peter Pan at Shaftesbury Theatre in 1980, as well as Shaftesbury's musical Maggie in 1978 and Charley's Aunt at the Aldwych in 1983.
