Neighbors to the President Consortium to Host Fall Festival
Fall Fest, hosted by the Neighbors to the President Consortium (NTPC), will offer free fall activities throughout the week of October 13-18. Families and
museum goers are encouraged to get into the autumn spirit and spend the day touring the various cultural sites located in the White House neighborhood and participate in a full schedule of free activities, tours, and gallery talks.
Activities include an exhibition tour of modern and contemporary Dominican art at the AMA | Art Museum of the Americas (OAS); exhibition tours of the Federal Reserve Board; making wool into yarn as well as regular tours at the DAR Museum; building
tours of the American Red Cross, Decatur House on Lafayette Square, and the Department of the Treasury; screen printing and mural tours at the Department of the Interior; open?house at the Octagon; Park Ranger activities at the White House Visitor Center. Detailed activity descriptions are posted on each organization's website and on the NTPC website (NTPC?dc.org).
The NTPC is a group of historic sites and museums in the White House neighborhood, with collections of architecture, crafts, decorative and fine arts, and other historical materials. Established in 1987, its members stimulate awareness of the historic and cultural significance of the presidential neighborhood and strive to increase understanding, encourage preservation and foster stewardship of consortium sites. Members include the U.S. Department of the Interior Museum, Art Museum of the Americas (OAS), DACOR Bacon House, DAR Museum, American Red Cross, Decatur House on Lafayette Square, Renwick Gallery of the Smithsonian
American Art Museum, Octagon House, White House, Treasury Building, President's Park/White House Visitor Center, and Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System.
