F.U.D.G.E Theatre Company to Present 'Training Wisteria' Starting 10/25

By:

F.U.D.G.E. Theatre Company announces Training Wisteria, a dramatic comedy by Molly Smith Metzler. Training Wisteria opens on October 23rd at 8:00pm and plays through October 25th, 2008.

“We are very excited to be bringing this show back to Boston, where it had its premiere five years ago at the Boston Playwrights Theater.  The playwright beautifully blends comedy and drama, creating characters and a story that we can't help but get wrapped up in "says Joe DeMita, Fudge Theatre Company’s President and this production’s Director. Training Wisteria features Linda Goetz, Anthony DiBartolomeo, Kiki Samko, Alma Prelec & Brian Dunham.

Training Wisteria centers around a particularly hectic day in the lives of an average, recently-turned-dysfunctional family. The parents - Lynn and Stephen - have recently divorced. Their children – Rachel, Dylan, and Kacie – have adapted their own unique coping mechanisms to deal with this change. While the family gathers in preparation for Dylan's high school graduation party, Lynn, at the head of it all, directs her frustrations into the seemingly hopeless project of training her unruly yard. As the day progresses, tensions hit a boiling point, until everyone is forced to re-evaluate their ideas about family, loss, and coping with it all. Winner of the Kennedy Center National Student Playwriting Award, the David Mark Cohen National Playwriting Award and the Mark Twain Comedy Playwriting Award.

The F.U.D.G.E. Theatre Company, Inc. provides quality, affordable theatre productions to the people in the greater Boston area, cultivating an appreciation for and understanding of the arts, and providing a learning opportunity for those interested in a genuine theatre experience.
