"A Change Is Coming" A  National Gospel Stage Play took home the top honor of the evening at the 2008 Velocity Magazine Awards on November 15, 2008 for "Best Film/Stage Play".

The Savvy Agency, Inc, announced last month their client One Stage Productions, Inc, received five official nominations for the 2008 Velocity Awards in the categories of:  Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Film/Stage Play for "Like Father Like Son" and Best Film/Stage Play for "A Change Is Coming".

"A Change Is Coming" is a contemporary Gospel stage play about a family going in different directions of their lives, who are brought together by a grandmother's faith and belief in the power of prayer. This unique stage play written and directed by Michael McCorkle has a public appeal to a mass audience. The play is reminiscent of "Good ole family values," meets "Today's complexities," with a healthy dose of laughter and fun thrown in for good measure. This simple, yet uplifting theatrical play with original music has attracted enthusiastic and sold-out tour audiences to date.

The Velocity Magazine Awards recognizes the outstanding achievements of Independent Artists in the worlds of music, stage and film. Velocity Magazine is an Independent Publication based out of the Washington D.C Metropolitan Area and is published by Southeast Boy Productions L.L.C.  "None of this would have been possible without the outstanding support and hard work of a phenomenal cast and crew", stated critically acclaimed Director and Producer Michael McCorkle as he and the cast accepted the Top Honor award at the close of the ceremony.

"This is only the beginning for this sensational cast and crew. They are going all the way to the Top! Their dedication, motivation and enthusiasm to change a generation through theatrical performance will insure their continued success for years to come", states Monique Norington, Publicist for One Stage Productions, Inc.

"A Change Is Coming" will continue to reach audiences across the country, almost exclusively composed of individuals and families between the ages of 18-55 years of age who are typically passionate about "family involvement", "youth development" and "Christian values".
