Vermont Theatre Company Presents MURDER AT THE DISCO, 9/17-18

The Vermont Theatre Company announces another of their popular mystery dinner Theater Productions, this year a flashback to the 1970's, "Murder at the Disco", to be presented at the Dummerston Grange in Dummerston, VT on September 17 and 18.

It is 1979 at the trendy Studio Manhattan, a chic and glamorous New York discotheque frequented by the rich and famous. In their platform shoes and polyester leisure suits guests feverishly dance the Hustle and the Bump to the throbbing rhythmic disco beat as zany DJ Wolfguy Jake spins the vinyl platters.  But where is notorious club owner Jackie Fever? Has she really danced her last dance? Is she still "stayin' alive"? A scream is heard, a body is discovered, and Detective Starsky Hutch (Bob Kramsky) is on the case to discover what really happened to Jackie Fever and who put out her lights at the disco.

      The Vermont Theatre Company is a nonprofit theatre organization which was begun in Burlington and reestablished in Brattleboro in 1984 by Ray Jenness, the original Artist Director and Mastermind. VTC is proud of the productions presented in and around Brattleboro. Titles range from comedy to tragedy, contemporary to classics.

In 1990 VTC launched what has become a tradition, an annual Shakespeare in the Park production at the Rotary Club Amphitheater in Brattleboro's Living Memorial Park. Presented on the last weekend of June, it has attracted over 7000 picnickers over the years.

VTC is committed to a policy of open auditions and is proud to introduce to our audiences new talent alongside seasoned performers. We employ a wide variety of directors from the Tri-State area, many of whom have extensive professional theatre backgrounds. In addition to providing these opportunities for our neighbors and ourselves, we intend to offer high quality theatre at affordable prices and to offer shows which will entertain and excite the imaginations of our diverse and discriminating audience.
