The Joci Awards is the largest scholarship program for the performing arts in the United States, now in its 18th year and presented by The Majestic Empire Foundation. Students from 21 high schools across San Antonio and the Rio Grande Valley compete in categories including Best Vocal Performance, Best Dance Performance, Best Acting Performance, Best Lead Actress in a Musical, Best Lead Actor in a Musical, and Outstanding High School Musical, with scholarships ranging from $3,000 to $16,000. Tony and Drama League Award-nominated actress Robyn Hurder, known for her roles in Chicago and Smash, will serve as host. The program has awarded more than $2.3 million in scholarships since its founding and serves as an official Regional Awards Program for the National High School Musical Theatre Awards.
