YANK! Gets European Premiere in the UK Next Spring

Sheffield-based actor and theatre producer, Ben Millerman, has announced his first season of shows for Spring 2017 with a UK Premiere for Manchester and a brand new piece for Birmingham.

"Mr Millerman Presents is committed to bringing new work and northern talent to the stage, we want to bang the drum and say there is more in this country than just London," said Ben Millerman, 24.

The season opens with the UK Premiere of American musical "YANK!" which opens at the Hope Mill Theatre in Manchester, March 2017.

"In the light of the recent US elections, this show is even more relevant. Some stories didn't make it into the history books so it's important this show brings to light the subjects of life for soldiers in World War 2 and dealing with homosexuality during a time when it was illegal."

The show is based on the true story of an american soldier's experiences falling in love with another soldier in the height of World War 2.

"The show was nominated for multiple awards in the US and we can't wait to bring it to the UK."

The season then continues with a brand new play in Birmingham in April 2017 written by brand new Northern playwright Thomas Moran.

"With so much debate about most of the Arts Council Funding being cut in the North we are so happy that we were successful in securing funding for this brand new play. The company is committed to showcasing Northern talent and brand new work, we're so happy that the Arts Council in this case felt the same."

NOISE will be uniquely accessible with subtitles and sign language integrated into the piece telling the story of a university student's struggle with his profound deafness. With two huge productions for the first season we look forward to announcing many more shows and collaborations soon.
