WHITE CHRISTMAS to Play Wolverhampton Grand Theatre
South Staffs Musical Theatre Company returns following their successful 2014 production of Oliver! to tell Irving Berlin's tale of two famous song-and-dance men who stage a show in a scenic, snow-topped Vermont inn. There's laughter, crazy plot turns and Broadway-size production numbers along the way.
Simon McGee from Lower Gornal will play Bob Wallace and Luke Renwick from Telford is Phil Davies. Betty Haynes will be played by Lexie Bennett and Judy Haynes by Rebecca Haydon. Roger Stokes is General Henry Waverly, Maria Shee plays Martha Watson, as well as choreographing the whole show. The role of Susan Waverly is shared by Freya Poulton and Abby Hathaway on alternate dates.
Direction is by Karl Veltman and Musical Supervision is by Ben Batt.
Chairman of South Staffs Musical Theatre Company, Alison Norton said; "Our members are extremely excited and delighted to be performing such an iconic show. White Christmas is just the perfect way to glide into the festive period and will appeal to families, couples and groups of friends alike. The show is packed with high energy tap routines, has a romantic, heart-warming storyline and the well-known score includes Blue Skies, I Love a Piano, Let Yourself Go and of course everyone's favourite Christmas anthem, White Christmas itself. We cannot wait to begin the festivities!"
WHITE CHRISTMAS opens on Tuesday 1 December and plays at the Grand Theatre until Saturday 5 December. Tickets are available by calling the Box Office on 01902 42 92 12 or online at grandtheatre.co.uk.
