Vocalist Kate Rusby to Capture Magic of Christmas for Warrington Show
Famously down to earth, for over twenty years Kate's engaging personality and sharp Yorkshire wit have further endeared her to concert goers everywhere so the audience at her Parr Hall show on 16 December are in for a treat.
It is in her special Christmas concerts that all these elements combine to exquisite effect.
Warm and inviting, spicy and sparkly, she and her marvellous band - joined as ever by a sublime brass quintet - embody the sounds and joyous spirit of the Christmas season.
In her performances Kate is embracing and sharing a South Yorkshire tradition of which she has been a part ever since she was a child.
For over 200 years, from late November to New Year's Day, Sunday lunchtimes see the good folk of South Yorkshire and North Derbyshire flock to their local public houses to sing their own unique variations of familiar carols which, as Kate says, "were kicked out of churches during the Victorian era for being too happy".

Pyramid & Parr Hall are two of the North West's leading arts and entertainment venues for music, comedy, dance, drama and much more. The venues have played host to big name acts including John Bishop, The Stone Roses, Billy Ocean, Jools Holland and Peter Kay to name a few.
Parr Hall is a listed building and has been a long standing feature of Warrington's cultural scene since its opening in 1895. It is a medium sized concert venue with 1000 seats. Pyramid opened in 2002, with support from Arts Council England and the National Lottery, as an arts centre focusing on smaller performances and community events. It offers a range of spaces to hire for events, weddings and conferences.
The venues are run by Culture Warrington which is a charitable trust that was established in May 2012 to also manage Warrington Museum & Art Gallery and cultural events across the town including Warrington Festival and Warrington Contemporary Arts Festival.
