Twespians, Network Gathering for Theatre Professionals, Returns with Nationwide Plans
By: Courtnie Mele
After a change in management and a small hiatus, Twespians the social and network gathering for theatre professionals returned at a re-launch event on Wednesday 4th December 2013 at Wilton's Music Hall.
Twespians was the brainchild of Luke Murphy and Laura Tosney and started life as part of Social Media Week in 2010 at the Theodore Bullfrog, London. The event grew and over two years saw many Twespians events take place including theatre trips to Soho Theatre, The National Theatre, Richmond Theatre, Lyric Hammersmith amongst many others, Twespians Fringe Sessions - smaller, more specific events to help members become better arts and social media practitioners and of course regular social events which have included pup quizzes and a fair few hangovers! Following their departure Laura and Luke set about finding a new team to run the event and after an incredibly hard and long tendering process decided to hand over Twespians to the team behind long-established theatre reviewing website The Public Reviews (www.thepublicreviews.com) The Public Reviews' aims, outlined in their tender application, was to see Twespians move from being just a London event to being a network of nationwide events. The team are delighted to announce that steps have been put into place to make the move into all regions across the UK in 2014: the first two regional events will take place in East Anglia and Manchester in the first quarter of the year. Other dates and regions will be announced soon.Glen Pearce : glen@thepublicreviews.com | 07879 732315 | @glenpearce1www.twespians.co.uk | @twespians | www.facebook.com/twespians
