Thirty One Productions Stages Neil Labute's BASH LATTERDAY PLAYS, Now thru April 12

By:

Thirty One Productions is proud to present, by arrangement with Samuel French Ltd, BASH Latterday Plays by Neil LaBute. BASH Latterday Plays is a collection of three one act plays. In the first, Iphigenia In Orem, a businessman from Utah divulges a chilling crime to a stranger in a Las Vegas hotel room. In A Gaggle Of Saints, a young Mormon couple each describe their version of events of a night in New York City. In Medea Redux, a woman recounts her intricate relationship with her junior high-school English teacher. Together, these one acts paint a vivid picture of the evils found in everyday life.

Neil LaBute received his Master of Fine Arts degree in dramatic writing from New York University and was the recipient of a literary fellowship to study at the Royal Court Theatre, London and also attended the Sundance Institute's Playwrights Lab.

His films include: In the Company of Men (New York Critics' Circle Award for Best First Feature, Filmmakers' Trophy at the Sundance Film Festival), Your Friends and Neighbors, Nurse Betty, Possession, and The Shape of Things, a film adaptation of his play by the same title.

His plays include: The Shape of Things, The Mercy Seat, The Distance From Here, In a Forest Dark and Deep and Reasons To Be Pretty (TONY Nominated for Best Play). In 2013, Neil LaBute was named one of the winners of the American Academy of Arts and Letters' Arts and Letters Awards in Literature.

The cast of Iphegenia In Orem features Philip Scott-Wallace (ITV's Downton Abbey). A Gaggle of Saints features Dani Harrison (Spite & Malice) and Tom Vallen (Professional Debut). Medea Redux features Rebecca Hickey (ITV's My Good Samaritan).

BASH Latterday Plays is directed by Jonathan O'Boyle (The Scottsboro Boys, Young Vic). All performances will be at The Old Red Lion Theatre at 418 St John Street, London EC1V 4NJ.
