The Gruffalo To Join Wyvern Theatre's Family Fun Day

The Gruffalo will head to Swindon, along with characters from other forthcoming shows at The Wyvern Theatre, to join the theatre's Family Fun Day on Saturday 2 November from 10am to 1pm.

KW & NB Ltd, the producers of The Gruffalo, said "We're delighted that the Gruffalo is involved in the Wyvern Theatre's family fun day where he always receives a warm welcome. The Gruffalo is looking forward to being back in April with the show."

The Wyvern Theatre has teamed up with a number of local organisations to create a free Family Fun Day on Saturday 2 November, which will form part of the UK-wide Family Arts Festival during the October half-term. Special guests already signed-up to appear on the day include Daisy the Cow from this year's pantomime and Mr Potato from Peppa Pig.

In the Wyvern Theatre's foyer, you can enjoy face painting and cupcake decorating and opposite the theatre, in the Band Stand, you can dance and sway to live music arranged by Holmes Music and inSwindon. Swindon Library will welcome members of the cast from this year's pantomime at 11am for an exclusive story-time and our friendly neighbours at Swindon Dance will also be opening their doors from 9:30am to 1pm, inviting families to enjoy the world of dance with a selection of free workshops.

As an added incentive to visit the theatre on Saturday 2 November, during the fun day times of 10am and 1pm, patrons will be able to purchase tickets in person and pay no booking fees. Plus, book for any Family show and receive a signed Chris and Pui postcard!

"There's going to be so much to see and do for children and parents alike. I am particularly pleased that we can also save families some money in the run up to Christmas by waiving booking fees during the event."
