This year the Rose Theatre's Artistic Director Stephen Unwin will talk about his new book The Well Read Play at the Kingston Readers' Festival on Monday 23 May at 1pm.

The Well Read Play shows us how to read a play, providing clear and practical information to help us understand its workings. Absorbing and informative, The Well Read Play is an entertaining and accessible guide to understanding drama; essential reading for students, directors, teachers and all those who love theatre.

Stephen Unwin said "I'm delighted to be involved in this year's Kingston Readers' Festival. There are some wonderful speakers including Judith Kerr, Antonio Carluccio, Peter Snow and Lionel Shriver to name a few. On the 23 May I will talk about how to read a play, from spotting clues from the playwright, to imagining how it can be staged, whether it be for study, staging or leisure."

This year sees the Kingston Readers' Festival celebrate its tenth anniversary, taking place from 28 April - 26 May. Events will be held at John Lewis, Kingston University, Tiffin Boys' School, Kingston Museum, Waterstone's and the Rose.
