Society of London Theatre Invites Teachers/Students to 'Education Live' in April
The Society of London Theatre and Mousetrap Theatre Projects are inviting teachers who are interested in finding out about London theatres' educational opportunities to book for their next EducationLive event on Tuesday 5 April 2011.
This is just one of a series of unique EducationLive events which gives teachers (primary and secondary) the chance to meet theatre industry professionals in a fun and informal environment and to find out more about the educational resources provided by London theatres and productions.
Taking place at Bloomsbury Central Baptist Church, nestled in the heart of London's Theatreland, the 5 April event runs from 5 - 7pm and costs just £15 per teacher to attend.
This includes: Two half-hour theatrical taster sessions led by West End professionals; The opportunity for teachers to meet face-to-face with education officers, producers and marketing teams from a wide range of commercial and subsidised theatres, production companies and venues across London; The chance to see a London show for free that night from a choice of selected productions.
Teachers attending EducationLive will learn about theatre productions which are on offer over the next year as well as discover the range of education programmes, workshops, teachers' resource materials, special events and school group rates available to support their students' theatre visits.
A teacher attending the October 2010 EducationLive said: "It was so good to talk to professionals involved in providing theatre resources and experiences for young people. I loved the relaxed atmosphere and the feeling of positive action for our youngsters".
