Scottee today announces the return of Hamburger Queen, the infamous beauty pageant and talent show for fat people. This year's head judge is Sofie Hagen with Grace Dent, Grace Victory, Louise McSharry, Gemma Cairney and Scottee's Mum completing the judging panel. Scottee hosts the event at Shoreditch Town Hall on Saturday 8 December.

Established in 2013 the contest has seen over 60 fatties from across the world battle it out for the coveted title! This year to celebrate a decade of Scottee's work he is bringing the cult contest back for one night only.

20 contestants will flaunt their fashions, talent and culinary skills for the celebrity judges and their chance to win a cash prize, exclusive goodies and of course the crown!

Superstar guest performances, plus disco dancing 'til late with Unskinny Bop providing the tunes.

Scottee said today, "This year I'm celebrating 10 years of being a show off and artist! I've just launched my archive book Scottee: I Made It and I had to bring back one of my most loved projects - Hamburger Queen! This year it's going to be the biggest we've ever done it - 20 contestants on one night! Who will be crowned Queen of the Fatties?"

Sofie Hagen added, "I had lived in London for two years before I first attended Hamburger Queen, but it wasn't until I did that I understood what London really is and can be. I had never been in a space that was truly inclusive and truly celebratory of my identity and my body. Parts of me were accepted that I hadn't even acknowledged to myself yet. I am immensely proud and honoured to be back at Hamburger Queen in December and it will without a doubt be the highlight of my year."

Scottee is an artist and writer, working across theatre, fine art and installation. In 2010, as an emerging artist he won the title of Time Out Performer of the Year, since then he has been creating provocative work for audiences across UK, Europe, Australia, Japan and the US.

His debut solo tour The Worst of Scottee won the prestigious Total Theatre Award in 2014. In 2016 he was included on Independent's Rainbow List as one of Britain's most influential LGBTQI+ people. Scottee's critically acclaimed Putting Words in Your Mouth uncovered a queer community turning to neo-nationalist groups. This quickly followed sell-out tour and his first stage text Bravado exploring working class masculinity. Currently he is touring 'a sort of dance show' Fat Blokes across England, Scotland and Ireland.

Scottee is co-host on BBC Radio 4's Loose Ends. His debut radio documentary My Big Fat Documentary was made BBC Radio 4's Documentary of the Week. Scottee has since appeared on Front Row, BBC Radio 3's The Verb and Free Thinking. In 2018 he made a short documentary for BBC Three on street abuse titled Fat & Fabulous.

Scottee is not easily definable, his work is brash, political and will often purposefully leave you a bit annoyed, overwhelmed but never impartial.
