Over 100 dedicated people running for Samaritans at this year's Virgin London Marathon on Sunday 25 April will be getting the star treatment courtesy of the Ambassador Theatre Group (ATG).

Samaritans will be hosting 'London's Biggest Marathon Party' at ATG's Playhouse Theatre on Northumberland Avenue immediately after the main event. Doors will be open from 12.30pm.

Over 1,000 guests and visitors are expected to fill The Playhouse for the Marathon Party. Runners will enter the theatre via Stage Door and will be invited to appear on stage where their running times will be announced to an audience and they will take their moment to shine in the spotlight.

Samaritans' runners will also be able to gain access to a special VIP Area where they will be pampered with massages and exclusive hospitality. Each runner will also receive a VIP presentation and goodie bag.

The Playhouse Theatre will also act as Samaritans HQ on Marathon day with specially trained Samaritan volunteers available for face-to-face chats.

Members of the public are invited to come along to The Playhouse Theatre on the day to find out more about Samaritans and the Ambassador Theatre Group.

Playhouse Theatre Manager, Sarah Guppy said: "All the staff at The Playhouse Theatre and ATG are delighted to be working alongside Samaritans at this year's Virgin London Marathon and we hope our involvement will help raise awareness for all those running for the charity. We'll be cheering everyone across the finish line!"

Stephen Wilkie of Samaritans said: "We're really proud of all our runners at this year's Marathon and are extremely grateful for all their hard work, commitment and fundraising efforts. We wanted to thank them all by throwing ‘London's Biggest Marathon Party' and offering exclusive hospitality and our partnership with ATG has enabled us to do that."
