SO YOU SAY By Sam Chittenden Comes to Etcetera Theatre, London
![]()
When ex-lovers meet after a gap of many years, what can we believe about the stories they tell? 'So You Say' explores the divergence over time of the stories we tell about events. Do these unreliable narratives arise from differing perspectives, self-deception or downright dishonesty? 'So You Say' takes us on a fast-paced journey through past and present.
An emotional fairground ride. Funny, shocking and bittersweet.
This work will appeal to anyone who is curious about what happens when lovers go their separate ways, or indeed who has reminisced about an experience only to find that others have a different point of view. It will also intrigue anyone who loves language and wordplay.
Brighton-based Different Theatre produce realistic and intimate theatre with a twist of the surreal. Katie Turner-Halliday has directed shows from verbatim theatre to storytelling. Previous credits include Silence at Southwark Playhouse, Tales Time Forgot at Cranbury Arts Festival and Our Deepest Fear for the Here She Is showcase at Theatre Peckham.
