Written by two acclaimed American writers, discovered and produced by The A STAGE KINDLY New Musical Theatre Initiative, the high-octane show about a diva's return to the silver screen pays homage to some of the great moments of one of Hollywood's golden eras with references to such iconic cinema classics as "Whatever Happened to Baby Jane" and "Mommie Dearest".

Flanked by her adoring valet, her sacked soap-opera star sister, and next door neighbours creepy kid, a gory slasher movie is a curious choice of genre for a woman previously acquitted of murder in dubious circumstances in which to make a comeback.

"We are often sent many diverse shows to consider, in many different styles. Often they are experimental or modern, but once in a while we receive a solid gold piece written in an old-school style though that has the advantage of being new-writing and thus an entirely new and exciting experience for an audience. The dialogue in this show is sharp and quick, the tunes are catchy, the characters larger than life, and we are really excited about this high-jinks show which is written with great respect for what makes Musical Comedy such a uniquely entertaining art form." says Giles Howe, who with Katy Lipson is producing the show with their company A STAGE KINDLY - a unique organisation dedicated to supporting new musical theatre.

Slay It With Music is written by Michael Colby and Paul Katz.
