Prime Theatre to Host Audition Masterclass
Prime Theatre, previously known as Sixth Sense Theatre Company, is opening up their masterclasses to the public for the first time. Swindon's only professional theatre company also runs Prime Youth, a Youth Theatre group teaching core drama and theatrical skills to young people aged 5 and up. Members of Prime Youth are regularly offered monthly and one-off masterclasses in a variety of skills like scriptwriting, technical theatre and digital theatre.
We are excited to announce Ben Buratta, a lecturer at The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama and Artistic Director of Outbox Theatre, will be leading a workshop for Prime Theatre. This workshop will focus on the key skills needed when auditioning for both drama school and productions. It is open to anyone interested in developing a better understanding of what to do in an audition situation. It will offer key techniques as well as looking at how best to prepare.
Carli Green, a Prime Youth member says, 'Drama School auditions can be stressful and pressuring but with this upcoming masterclass, especially as it is with an industry professional who knows what they're talking about, I can hope to feel as prepared as possible. The Masterclasses Prime Theatre have been running have been insightful glimpses into so many other aspects of theatre such as Set Design, Scriptwriting, Digital theatre and others. I would recommend anyone even remotely interested in theatre or think they could be to get involved and give it a try - you might just discover your calling.'
The workshop is for those aged 15+ and will take place at the Wyvern Theatre on Saturday 23 April, 11am - 4pm. It will cost £10 for those who do not currently attend Prime Youth, however bursaries for this workshop are available.
Places are limited so if you are interested in booking a place on the workshop or have any questions about it please contact Aaron Parsons, our associate director on email@example.com or call us on 01793 614864
