Old Joint Stock Theatre to Celebrate Works of Jonathan Larson in January

Jonathan Larson is, quite rightly, hailed as one of the pioneers of the "modern musical" and The Old Joint Stock Theatre in Birmingham is proud to produce both of his published works over the week which will mark the 20th anniversary of his passing. Opening on Saturday 23rd January 2016, tick, tick...BOOM! runs for 7 performances, closing on Saturday 30th, and RENT - Performed in Concert will take place on Sunday 24th & Monday 25th.

Michael - Rhys Owen

Credits include - Leonard, The Life of Stuff (Theatre 503); Renfield - Dracula (Leicester Square Theatre); Fleshcreep - Jack and the Beanstalk (Buxton Opera House); Uncle Stan - Get That Beat (Tristan Bates Theatre); Mitch Mahoney/Olive's Dad - The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (UK Tour).

The Old Joint Stock Musical Theatre Company will be revisiting RENT which they performed in 2013, as a tribute to Larson. This will be in the style of a concert performance on January 24th & 25th - 20 years to the day it opened Off-Broadway. A donation will be made to an AIDS charity in Larson's memory.
