The young stars of Northern Ballet's A Christmas Carol are pictured (left) on opening night at The Marlowe Theatre (Tuesday).

The boys and girls, aged from six to nine, all attend Dance Warehouse in Canterbury. Playing urchins are Ilona Morris (from Ramsgate), Jimmy Kingsland, Grace Cuniffe, Claudia Brice, Phoebe Tanner, Hannah Strandvik and Rachel Standvik. The Victorians are Erin Padgett, Ola Thompsom and Lois Tanner, while Kirit Devani and Tom Waddington (from Hythe) play Tiny Tim.

Alison Clark, Dance Warehouse Principal, said: "It's a privilege for us to be working with Northern Ballet and The Marlowe Theatre. It's a unique opportunity for the children to perform with a professional company on a fantastic stage and it will stay with them for the rest of their lives."
