Manchester International Festival Announces Cast for FATHERLAND
The cast for Scott Graham, Karl Hyde and Simon Stephens' new production Fatherland has today been announced. The world premiere of this intensely physical production will be performed by a 13-strong cast, transforming the Royal Exchange Theatre in Manchester, from 1st July. A new trailer is also now available, featuring the exclusive first excerpt of one of Fatherland's songs written by Karl Hyde and Matthew Herbert .
Check out the trailer below!
With rehearsals starting next week, the full cast for Fatherland is Joseph Alessi, Luke Brown, Matt Cross, Bryan Dick, Emun Elliott, Ankit Giri, Nick Holder, David Judge, Neil McCaul, Tachia Newell, Ferdy Roberts, Luke Rigg and Deka Walmsley. Each night the cast will be joined by the Chorus of Others, a cacophony of Mancunian voices, formed as part of Fatherland.
Inspired by conversations with fathers and sons from the three co-authors' hometowns across England, Corby, Kidderminster and Stockport, Fatherland explores identity, nationality and masculinity. In a vivid and deeply personal portrait of 21st-century England at the crossroads of past, present and future, Fatherland is a show about what we were, who we are and what we try to be.
