Ladidagroup to Present WHO ATE ALL THE PIES? in London, 6/9-6/26
From June 9 to June 26, Ladidagroup will present Who Ate All The Pies?, a modern musical football fable, at the Tristan Bates Theatre in central London. During its strictly limited run, which coincides with the season of the World Cup in South Africa, the musical will play a variety of performance times.
In the musical, Punter's daughter Sharon honours her father's dying wish to take his season ticket for City FC. She encounters a Northern football manager, a football player's saucy significant other, a sly agent, a new millionaire owner, some ill-informed pundits, some mouthy yobs, a posh man from the corporate box, and of course an £18 milllion footballer. Who Ate All the Pies? follows City's desperate attempt to make it through the season without being relegated again. Will Sharon ever understand the passion, the tears, the laughter and the love that binds together the fans on the terrace? Will she ever forgive her father for all those missed Saturday afternoons? Will City FC return to glory before the final whistle?
Who Ate All the Pies? is written by Jimmy Jewell & Nick Stimson, the team behind the celebrated NHS The Musical at the Theatre Royal Plymouth and The Venue Leicester Square, which was hailed ‘A pesky, perky, word-of-mouth hit!' by Lyn Gardner in The Guardian. A similarly comedic romp is guaranteed for football lovers and loathers alike.
Produced by Ladidagroup, Who Ate All the Pies? will be directed by Johnny Brant, with musical supervision by Tom Kelly, musical direction by Mark Dickman, and lighting design by Paul Green. Who Ate All the Pies? was originally commissioned by the Drum Theatre, Theatre Royal Plymouth, and was developed in association with Perfect Pitch.
The Tristan Bates Theater is located at 1a Tower Street in London. To purchase tickets, telephone the box office at 0207 240 6283 or e-mail boxoffice@tristanbatestheatre.co.uk.
