Grand Theatre Part of New Wolverhampton What's On Website

By:

Grand Theatre Part of New Wolverhampton What's On Website ImageWolverhampton Grand Theatre is part of a brand new website developed by the city council in partnership with other major Wolverhampton venues. The new website 'What's on Wolverhampton' (www.whatsonwolverhampton.com) has been designed as a one-stop shop for all things going on in the city. The site enables the user to easily discover events they are interested in, plan their visit, find out what is nearby to an event, including restaurants, bars, hotels and parking, and directs them to venue websites to make bookings.

The new events portal arrives at the end of a 'Visit the City' summer programme that has featured the launch of Wolves in Wolves - the largest public arts event in the city ever - and the success of the inaugural Festival of Food and Drink.

Councillor John Reynolds, Cabinet Member for City Economy, said: "The Visit the City summer programme has been a huge success this year and we want to keep the momentum going.

"I would encourage even more people to attend the rich variety of events we have in the City of Wolverhampton all year round - and this new website will help them do that.

"It has been designed to be mobile responsive, fits with current consumer trends, and fills an important gap in the city's market.

"Currently if you search for events in Wolverhampton you are often diverted to regional websites which do not give the city the profile it deserves.

"What's on Wolverhampton shows the wide variety of events we have on offer in the city - at superb venues we are proud of."

Feedback from partners has been positive and What's on Wolverhampton welcomes further feedback from users on how it can be improved via a 'contact us' form.

Cllr Reynolds added: "I'd like to take this opportunity to thank all the partners who provided feedback and information.

"We hope the site will further drive the visitor economy and put the city on the map.

"There is £3.7 billion of investment on site or in the pipeline for the city and ensuring a strong cultural offering is an important part of that."
