Glenn Hughes returns to the UK for May 2011 Tour

Following sold-out December UK concerts with rock supergroup Black Country Communion, iconic vocalist and bass guitarist, GLENN HUGHES, will embark on an 11-date UK tour in Northampton on Saturday 14th May.

The former lead singer and bassist of Trapeze and Deep Purple, Hughes' blistering live concerts promise to feature an unforgettable career retrospective.

"Following the incredible response we received from last month's Black Country Communion UK shows, I'm looking forward to touring solo in the UK this coming May," says Hughes.

Hughes solo band will consist of Pontus Engborg (drums), Soren Andersen (guitar) and Anders Olinder (keyboards).

Tickets will go on general sale from Friday January 7th 2011, with www.ents24.com offering an exclusive pre-sale from 9am on Wednesday January 5th.

UK rock fans can expect a diverse selection of classic songs from Hughes' extensive cannon, including Trapeze, Deep Purple, Hughes & Thrall and Glenn's solo albums.

Hughes is best known for his highly distinctive style that effortlessly blends the elements of rock, soul and funk. He's worked with everyone from Black Sabbath's Tony Iommi, the KLF, members of the Red Hot Chili Peppers and is currently riding high with Jason Bonham, Joe Bonamassa and Derek Sherinian in hotly tipped rock supergoup Black Country Communion.

Hailed around the world as one of the last of the truly great British classic rock vocalists, in 2010 Hughes sang with Heaven and Hell at the High Voltage festival in London as a tribute to Ronnie James Dio. Lifelong friends, Ronnie often cited Glenn as his favourite male singer, so it is only fitting the Voice of Rock sang in honour of the Voice of Metal.

In keeping with the tradition of the classic British hard rock vibe that he has focused on with Black Country Communion, Glenn's solo touring band packs a harder, more direct rock approach than previous incarnations.

The upcoming solo tour promises to be an exciting and powerful showcase for Hughes and his unstoppable band.
