Epstein Theatre Announces March Lineup

March promises an eclectic mix of unmissable shows at The Epstein Theatre! Music, comedy, family fun and classic theatre are all on the line-up over the coming weeks at the Hanover Street venue.

The month opens with a vibrant, energetic, and gloriously funny musical from the award-winning Story Pocket Theatre. David Baddiel's magical story AniMalcolm comes to life on Friday 1 March. After a bizarre school trip unlike any other, schoolboy Malcolm begins to understand animals more deeply than anyone, changing his life forever.

The family fun continues Tuesday 19 March and Wednesday 20 March, as the Epstein welcomes Bing and all his friends to Liverpool in their first ever stage show!

Young audiences will light up as their favourite characters are brought to life in this brand-new show. Full of fun, laughter, and music, Bing Live! is the perfect first theatre trip for pre-schoolers and their families.

There is no shortage of shows for music enthusiasts as legendary artists are brought to life and audience favourites grace the stage this March.

On Saturday 2 March, Steve Harley and his Acoustic Trio will perform in front of a SELL-OUT crowd. The set will be built around tracks from Steve's original albums and will include all-time favourites like Mr Soft, Judy Teen, Mr Raffles, Sebastian, and of course the world-wide classic hit, Make Me Smile (Come Up And See Me), all blending in with more recent tracks from critically-acclaimed albums The Quality Of Mercy and Stranger Comes To Town.

Fans of the songs and music of Frankie Valli and The 4 Seasons will love The Jersey Beats! Viva Blackpool presents Oh What A Nite! for one evening at the Epstein on Sunday 17 March. The show will be packed with outstanding music performed by a sensational group and will feature fan favourites including Big Girls Don't Cry, Walk Like A Man, Bye, Bye, Baby and Oh What A Night.

Audiences are invited to relive the distinct sounds and music of 'Merseymania' with This is Merseybeat on Friday 22 March. The new show features the Cavern Club's resident Mersey beat combo, The Shakers and their 'Maximum Merseybeat' sound, just as it used to be. The evening will feature Mersey Beat boom hits, Cavern stompers and a shot of rhythm & blues (with just a little rock 'n' roll on the side, for good measure) from The Beatles, Gerry & The Pacemakers, The Searchers, Billy J Kramer, Swinging Blue Jeans, Cilla Black and others.

The month's amazing music performances are just heating up as Tom Jones & The Shades of the 60s brings the story of Jones' unprecedented rise through the charts to the stage on Tuesday 26 March. Audiences will be taken on an exciting and nostalgic journey celebrating the voice and the star prized all over the world. The show stars the age-defying voice of Daniel Chettoe, best known for his outstanding vocal performances on Britain's Got Talent.

One of Ireland's best loved and most respected performers, Jimmy Buckley, takes the stage on Wednesday 27 March. Jimmy possesses a very rare talent, not only as a phenomenal singer but also as a hilarious mimic of other major stars. His show contains a wide variety of material, including tribute medleys to the greats of country music, Hank Williams & Charley Pride. Along with his magnificent band, Jimmy will surely entertain all.

On Friday 29 March, the music of one of the world's most iconic and influential artists will be brought to life. Jackson Live in Concert features the hugely talented 'CJ' recreating the Michael Jackson experience with his stunning rendition of all his favourite songs. 'CJ' is one of the most experienced, dedicated and well-respected Michael Jackson Tribute artists in the world today, and he perfectly captures the electrifying energy of Michael's live performances with 100% live vocals. He's got the look, the moonwalk and the voice!

Anyone looking for big laughs will not be disappointed by the month's comedy offerings.

Sunday 3 March brings funny man Mark Watson. The Infinite Show is Watson's comedic exploration of empathy and asks, if 99 percent of the world's population is made up of other people: why can't we understand them? As scrawny and impassioned as ever, one of the UK's most beloved and thinnest acts offers some suggestions, with his usual notoriously high joke- and-rant-per-minute rate.

Comedian, author, cultural icon and - most recently - campmate on I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here!, Shappi Khorsandi is a woman of many parts. But live comedy is where she's in her element, and now - after her spell in the jungle - she sets out for the more welcoming destination of Liverpool on Thursday 28 March. The brand-new show, Skittish Warrior...Confessions of a Club Comic is packed full of sharp-tongued gags and cultural observation for a night of never-ending laughter.

Liverpool's 2015 Comedian of the Year, Nina Gilligan, headlines Our Rita's Comedy Club: Mother's Day Special on Sunday 31 March. Our Rita's bring audiences an evening of fantastic headline comedians off the telly with the cream of the UK and International comedy circuit. With previous headliners including Joe Lycett and James Acaster, it promises a night of comedy gold.

After two critically acclaimed seasons of Shakespeare, Daniel Taylor Productions return to the Epstein from Thursday 7 March - Saturday 16 March to bring audiences the Bard's most brilliant and bloody tale-Macbeth. This exciting new production explores the damaging psychological effects of war, betrayal and destructive political ambition. Brought to life with the same passion and brilliance that has made Daniel Taylor's shows a highlight of the city's cultural calendar, Macbeth is a must-see for theatre goers old and new.

The exceptionally talented LHK Youth Theatre return Saturday 23 March - Sunday 24 March to present Another High School Musical. Featuring an all-singing, all-dancing stage spectacular featuring all of the chart topping songs including, We're All In This Together, Stick To The Status Quo and The Start Of Something New.

Fans of sport will want to mark their calendar for Monday 25 March as The Totally Football Show comes to Epstein for a season defining night of puns and punditry. James Richardson, Producer Ben and special guests will check in on the title race, ask what's going on in the blue half of Merseyside, and discuss all the other happenings in the Premier League, the Champions League, and beyond.

March offers a jam-packed programme with something on offer for absolutely anyone!
