It's not often that you're lucky enough to see a piece of theatre which draws you in as much as Another Someone. A cross between dance, a play and a song-cycle, the show is something completely different to a lot of the other shows on offer at the Fringe.

Essentially, it's about happiness; what we want and the choices we make in order to get what we think will make us happy. It's not an extraordinary story, really - just three people trying to get on in life. But the way the story is told through the various mediums is absolutely beautiful.

The dialogue is natural and at times very poignant, the dance and movement sequences are very effective and moving, and Becky Wilkie's (singer-songwriter cross between Imogen Heap, Regina Spektor and Ingrid Michaelson) atmospheric music sets the perfect tone throughout, and at times she adds her own endearing narration.

The cast perform their parts wonderfully, giving a very honest and touching portrayal of their characters, adding in enough humour and humanity to keep the piece nice and balanced. The depth of emotion they bring to their performances is ultimately what makes this piece so powerful and so easy to connect to.

The structure of the story itself starts out very strong, and although it gets a little weaker as the show goes on, it wasn't something that at all affected how much I enjoyed it. It's a case of many, many beautiful elements compensating for the minor flaws.

It's no surprise to me that Another Someone is getting rave reviews across the board - I'd highly recommend seeing it before it sells out.
