Che Malambo Comes to Peacock Theatre For One Week Only Piu Entertainment and IMG Artists present Che Malambo, the powerhouse all Argentinian percussive dance and music sensation in their UK debut at The Peacock 18 - 22 July

After sell-out performances across North America and Europe Che Malambo brings the power, poise and posturing of the gaucho cowboys to the Peacock stage. A thrilling, testosterone-fuelled show of wild, unbridled energy.

Che Malambo excites audiences with their dynamic blend of precision footwork, rhythmic stomping, drumming and song which originated in the 17th century in the South American pampas. It evolved from competitive duels amongst the Argentine gaucho (South American cowboy) that tested agility, strength and dexterity. It soon evolved to include what is now its hallmark, zapeteo, the fast-paced footwork inspired by the rhythm of galloping horses. Malambo also features the drumming of traditional Argentine bombos and whirling boleadoras, a throwing weapon made up of intertwined cords and weighted with stones.

Che Malambo was born from the heart of the gaucho tradition and is now thrilling audiences around the world with this new production created by director and choreographer Gilles Brinas. After premiering in Paris in 2007 and touring around the world, Che Malambo embarked on a brief, but highly successful U.S. tour in 2013. In 2015 performing at the opening night of New York City Center's annually sold-out series, Fall for Dance. In 2016, the company performed in over 32 cities worldwide, returning to the US and Europe in 2017 for full tours introducing audiences of all ages, from all over the world, to their version of the thrilling Argentine Malambo. After a highly successful 2017 touring season, they are delighted to be making their UK premiere.
