Former 'Britain's Got Talent' contestant Susan Boyle may sing for Pope Benedict XVI when he visits Britain this September, the Associated Press reports today. Although talks are still in progress, Boyle will likely perform at a papal Mass in Bellahouston Park, Glasgow on September 16.  Benedict's visit will be the first visit of a pope to Britain since 1982; he will address Parliament and beatify nineteenth-century Cardinal John Henry Newman.

Reuters reported that a spokeswoman for Boyle said, "Susan's management are currently looking at the possibility of this happening."

Susan Boyle shot to fame when she sang 'I Dreamed a Dream' from LES MISERABLES on 'Britain's Got Talent' in April 2009.  She ultimately won second place for the season and also performed 'Memory' from CATS on the show.  In November 2009, Boyle released her first album, also titled 'I Dreamed a Dream,' which became 2009's best-selling album.  On the album, Boyle performs such songs as 'I Dreamed a Dream,' 'Cry Me a River,' and 'Amazing Grace.'
