Barking's Broadway Theatre presents the premiere of Up In the Wardrobe, a new play by Roberta Michel.

Soho 1977, The Silver Jubilee. The controversial revue 'Oh! Calcutta!' written by Kenneth Tynan is on at the Duchess Theatre. For the first time full frontal nudity - both male and female - is seen on stage.

Up in the wardrobe, things are running seamlessly thanks to the steely wardrobe mistress, her assistant and the new dresser. Eyebrows are raised by the arrival of a show-stopping dancer. The dresser meets her match in this observation of the theatrics of life.

Up in the Wardrobe, a new play by American born dancer and one time West End dresser, Roberta Michell, is as comical as it is political, reflecting the social mores of the late '70s while being very relevant to today. The characters are loosely based on various people she worked with during in her career backstage. This is her first play.

Starring Steve Griffin, Richard Igoe, Zeynep Sandi and Kathy Trevelyan. Directed by Dylan Keeling.
