Ballast Theatre to Stage Three Howard Colyer Original Plays, Begin. Aug 27

Three adaptations by Howard Colyer have been staged at the Jack in the last eighteen months - KAFKA V KAFKA, TROJAN WOMEN and MANDRAKE. Now Ballast Theatre are staging three of his original plays in one show.

Love, hope, doubt, betrayal and anguish - three original plays all short and sharp:

NEVER HAVE I EVER SEEN MOUNT FUJI, a love affair directed by Sarah Marr.

CONFERENCE CALL, a ghost story, directed by Scott Le Crass.

NOTHING ELSE EVER, a confession, directed by Sarah Marr.

The plays will run from Tuesday, 27 August - Saturday, 7 September at 7.45 p.m. at the Brockley Jack Studio Theatre. Tickets are £10 (£8 concessions) and can be reserved online at www.brockleyjack.co.uk or by calling 0844 8700 887.

Howard Colyer is a playwright and novelist. His previous works include MANDRAKE (2013), TROJAN WOMEN (2013), KAFKA V KAFKA (2012), FINCHLEY ROAD (2012), HOMEWORK (2011), CONFERENCE CALL (2011) and THE OVERCOAT (2011). His novels include GREGORY GUN and OLDSHAW. And he has also translated Kafka's LETTER TO MY FATHER.

Scott Le Crass (Artistic Director) is currently a director on the Birmingham Rep's Foundry Programme. Le Crass trained as an actor at Arts Ed, and has since directed and assisted on work at a wide range of theatres including, the Jack Studio, Watford Palace, Riverside Studios, Oxford Playhouse, Theatre 503, Trafalgar Studios, The Old Red Lion and The Pleasance.

Sarah Marr has been assisting directors in London for a year. She has worked for Scott Le Crass and James Farrell on Howard Colyer's previous works HOMEWORK and TROJAN WOMEN. Most recently she has been assistant director on David Bryan's ORION'S HAT at the Tristan Bates Theatre, Covent Garden. NEVER HAVE I SEEN MOUNT FUJI is her directing debut.

CONFERENCE CALL had a full production at Etcetera last summer, after it was selected for the Lost Theatre's One Act Play Festival in 2011, and before that it was staged script in hand at Theatre 503. MOUNT FUJI and NOTHING ELSE EVER are receiving their premiers.
