'An Evening With Aggers' Comes to The Wyvern

By:

'An Evening With Aggers' Comes to The Wyvern ImageJonathan Agnew MBE, a key figure in the world of cricket both as a former professional cricket player and world-renowned commentator on the game, is back on stage with his successful Evening With Aggers show. This autumn he goes it alone on his first ever solo UK tour regaling audiences with some of his special memories and amusing anecdotes.

Described as a 'master broadcaster,' his consummate skills on air have proved electric on stage in previous Evenings With Aggers alongside his prickly commentating partner Geoffrey Boycott, spin legend Graeme Swann, Indian's 'Little Master' Sunil Gavaskar, bad boy of English cricket Phil Tufnell and the gloriously eccentric David 'Bumble' Lloyd.

Agnew takes the audience on a trip down memory lane, waxing lyrical about his extensive and entertaining career on the cricket pitch, as well as his many years on TV screens and radio stations around the world. As a commentator and broadcaster on the BBC's Test Match Special slot, A View From The Boundary, he has interviewed many a star of stage, screen and elsewhere, including two prime ministers, several rock stars, film legends, writers, comedians and a boy wizard!

Producer, Simon Fielder said. "We can guarantee that anyone coming to see this show will have a thoroughly good time. It appeals to cricket fans and non-lovers of the game alike. You don't have to be into the sport to enjoy the stories and humour of this highly entertaining evening, it will appeal to anyone who enjoys a good yarn."

The tour starts at the Hunstanton Princess Theatre in Norfolk on Sunday 16th September arriving at the Swindon Wyvern on Tuesday 18 September and finishes on Saturday 1st December at the Nuffield Theatre in Southampton, taking in 16 venues in several counties across the land. From Northumberland and Yorkshire, through the Midlands and all the way down to Hampshire, Dorset, Somerset and Devon.

The shows are also raising money for the Professional Cricket Association (PCA) Benevolent Fund, a fantastic charity supporting past and current players and their dependents during times of illness or hardship.

Tickets for the Swindon date are available at swindontheatres.co.uk or through the Wyvern Ticket Office on 01793 524481. You can also follow Aggers on social media @Aggerscricket and the shows @askaggers
