Albert Camus' CROSS PURPOSE Plays King's Head Theatre, Now thru Nov 11

A man returns home to bring good fortune to his Mother and Sister, deciding to remain anonymous, a decision that ultimately proves fatal. He finds them running a guesthouse, murdering their wealthy guests and dumping them in a nearby river. Darkly absurd and tragic consequences ensue in this play by Nobel Laureate Albert Camus.

Cross Purpose, directed by Stephen Whitson, plays at the King's Head Theatre from tonight, October 7 - Sunday November 11, playing on Sundays and Mondays. Press night is Monday October 8 at 7.15pm.

Albert Camus was a French author, and philosopher. His views contributed to the rise of the philosophy known as Absurdism. He was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1957 "for his important literary production, which with clear-sighted earnestness illuminates the problems of the human conscience in our times".

AM Media Productions Ltd presents the play, translated by Stuart Gilbert and directed by Stephen Whitson with designer Jenny Gamble, sound design by Tim Adnitt, lighting design by Phil Hunter and costume design by Ilona Russell.

The cast features Jamie Birkett, Christina Thornton, David Lomax, Melissanthi Mahut and Leonard Fenton.
