70s Disco and Northern Soul to Bring Classic Sounds to Parr Hall

By:
Warrington will boogie the night away this October as two fantastic music events come to Parr Hall.

Music lovers will be donning their dance shoes on the first weekend of the month for the memorable melodies of 70s Disco and the distinctive rhythms of Northern Soul.

Returning to Parr Hall for the fifth time on Friday 7 October, 70s Disco has proven itself to be an unforgettable night which fans flock to as they step back in time to the disco era, complete with all that glitters, and all that hair!

National DJs will be playing original vinyl and bringing back the sounds of Billy Ocean, Barry White, Edwin Starr, Chairmen of the Board, Bay City Rollers, Detroit Spinners, Donna Summer, Three Degrees, Chic, Kool and The Gang, T. Rex, Sister Sledge, and many more.

For those who prefer rhythm and blues to glitter balls there's Northern Soul on Saturday 8 October featuring some of the country's greatest legends of the genre.

A hybrid of American soul music and distinctive dance styles, the genre is still popular almost half a century later and this event will be sure to have Warrington dancing the night away.

Join the company of Kev Richardson, Yocky, Carl Piper and Pete Eccles as they spin vinyl all night long, relive the glory days and be transported right back to legendary venues like the Twisted Wheel in Manchester.

These two fantastic nights out are not to be missed!

Pyramid & Parr Hall are two of the North West's leading arts and entertainment venues for music, comedy, dance, drama and much more. The venues have played host to big name acts including John Bishop, The Stone Roses, Billy Ocean, Jools Holland and Peter Kay to name a few.

Parr Hall is a listed building and has been a long standing feature of Warrington's cultural scene since its opening in 1895. It is a medium sized concert venue with 1000 seats. Pyramid opened in 2002, with support from Arts Council England and the National Lottery, as an arts centre focusing on smaller performances and community events. It offers a range of spaces to hire for events, weddings and conferences.

The venues are run by Culture Warrington which is a charitable trust that was established in May 2012 to also manage Warrington Museum & Art Gallery and cultural events across the town including Warrington Festival and Warrington Contemporary Arts Festival.
