Sono state rilasciate tutte nuove foto dalle prove di Chitty Chitty Bang Bang al Watermill Theatre di Newbury. La produzione si svolgerà da martedì 26 maggio a domenica 13 settembre, con una serata di premiere per la stampa nazionale giovedì 4 giugno alle 19:00. Dai un'occhiata alle foto qui sotto!
Immergiti nei cuori e nelle fantasie dell'inventore eccentrico Caractacus Potts, dei suoi figli Jeremy e Jemima, e di Truly Scrumptious mentre partono per un'avventura audace in un'auto dalla grande personalità.
Il cast di Chitty Chitty Bang Bang includerà Christian Edwards (Jesus Christ Superstar al Watermill Theatre, A Christmas Carol al Sheffield Crucible) nel ruolo di Caractacus Potts e Lydia Louise che farà il suo debutto professionale nel ruolo di Truly Scrumptious. Il nonno Potts sarà interpretato da Mark Curry (Wicked all'Apollo Theatre, The Rocky Horror Show per il tour nel Regno Unito) e Susannah van den Berg (Fiddler on the Roof al Barbican e tour nel Regno Unito, Oliver! al Watermill Theatre) interpreterà il Childcatcher.
Nel ruolo di Baron Bomburst ci sarà Samuel Morgan-Grahame (Jesus Christ Superstar e Sweet Charity al Watermill, Amelie nel West End e tour nel Regno Unito); Mairi Ikegami (Your Lie In April con Carter Dixon McGill Productions, Aladdin con UK Productions) interpreterà Baroness Bomburst; Sam Pay (Witness For The Prosecution con Eleanor Lloyd, Piaf al Watermill Theatre) sarà Boris/Lord Scrumptious; nel ruolo di Goran/Onstage MD ci sarà Alexander Zane (Jesus Christ Superstar al Watermill Theatre, Jack and the Beanstalk con Hopkins Associates), il Toymaker/Onstage Deputy MD sarà interpretato da Reuben Greeph (The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe al Leeds Playhouse, Cabaret al Playhouse Theatre) e Theo Diedrick (The (Beat) Rover con The Thelmas, Jack and the Beanstalk al Liverpool Everyman Theatre) interpreterà Coggins. Il cast di ensemble includerà Tasha Chu (Capitano di Danza), Sameer Dhanjee, Georgie Hales, Javai James, Maya Khatri Chhetri e Josh Rosewood.
Il ruolo di Jeremy sarà condiviso da Francis Adams, Bodhi Allnutt, Elijah Bailey e Lucas Froud, e il ruolo di Jemima sarà condiviso da Auora Breslin, Juyoung Chang, Sophie George e Aila McLeish.
I bambini di Vulgaria saranno interpretati da Chika Atakorah, Felix Brims, Amelia Cartwright, Willow Daniels, Roko Duckling, Ivy Evans, Rafe Evans, Cosmo French, Hugo Haworth, Asha Ibrahim, Imogen Jermey, Sophie Jones, Sam Llewellyn, Florence Martin, Kweji Sameke, Wilf Seymour, Cassia Tipp e Audrey Williams.
Con musiche e testi di Richard M Sherman e Robert B Sherman, adattato per il palcoscenico da Jeremy Sams e basato sul film della MGM, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang sarà diretto dal Direttore Artistico del Watermill, Paul Hart, che in precedenza ha diretto Jesus Christ Superstar e The Lord of the Rings.
Questa nuova produzione presenterà canzoni classiche suonate dal vivo da un cast di ensemble, tra cui “Truly Scrumptious”, “Hushabye Mountain” e “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang”.
