The Hudson Music Club (HMC) is beginning its 62nd year of musical merriment, opening its season once again at the charming Hudson Village Theatre with STILL IN THE MOOD - The story continues ..., the sequel to last year's sold out revue. There will be six performances between today, September 25th and 29th.

Charlie, a lovable WWll vet, is back at his favorite Legion again, only this time it's to have a drink before the Remembrance Day Parade. Big Joe, the new bartender is there to keep the beer flowing and the conversation lively. The duo reminisce about the old days, good times and bad, while they listen to the beautiful war-time tunes that kept young hearts hopeful and the home fires burning brightly for the lads and gals overseas.

What makes the sequel unique is that in addition to the heartwarming story and talented HMC voices harmonizing the smooth 1940s melodies, audiences will get an extra treat with the award-winning women's barbershop quartet, OVER THE TOP. HMC is proud of its family heritage, regularly boasting multiple generations participating in a production and this year, 92-year-old Frank Canniff, a genuine WWII veteran, will appear along with his daughter and grandson, Gail and Jordan Marchand respectively, all of whom have been long-time members of the Club.

Audiences can expect to hear these songs and more: Steppin 'Out With My Baby, Embraceable You, Don't Sit Under The Apple Tree, If I loved You, My funny Valentine, and In The Mood.

Originally formed in 1952 as The Follies to raise money for Hudson's Wyman Church, the Hudson Music Club, now in its 62st year, continues to raise money for worthwhile local organizations with crowd- pleasing musical theatre productions. Not only does their repertoire include everything from Gilbert and Sullivan to Cabaret with a few Broadway revues for good measure, they participate in various community events to raise funds for local charities throughout the calendar year.
