BWW Previews: APRILE MILLO IN RECITAL at Trinity-St. Paul's Centre

Opera and Classical music fans in Toronto have a lot to sing about! Legendary soprano Aprile Millo will be returning to Toronto for in November for a very special weekend of performances. The New York Post's James Jorden said of Millo: "The soprano, considered the foremost stylist of Italian romantic vocal music, always draws an audience of hard core cognoscenti, who are practically an opera in themselves".

Aware of the traditions in opera and keenly determined to see them continue, Mme. Millo is presenting a protégé, the fabulous young soprano Mary-Lou Vetere along with her students from the Vetere Studio, a group of amazing young Canadian voices, whom she is calling "the promise of tomorrow" in an Opera Spectacular on November 13th.

Then on November 15th, Millo will be appearing in recital with renowned piano virtuoso, Linda Ippolito, in a program of arias, Italian art songs, lieder as well as Irish and American songs. Special guest artists, Argentinian baritone, Gustavo Ahualli, soprano Mary-Lou Vetere and reknown harpist, Merynda Adams will be joining her.

The iconic soprano has been appearing far too infrequently lately and these two performances provide Toronto fans with a very rare opportunity to see the opera legend. Millo has sung alongside most of the greatest singers of the last half century including Luciano Pavarotti, Placido Domingo, and Carlo Bergonzi as well as Canada's great tenors, Ben Heppner and Richard Margison.

Mme. Millo has had a long and warm association with the opera fans of Canada and she wanted to share her immense joy at finding so many wonderful young Canadian artists in love with opera and eager to learn and promote culture and the arts.

Performances like these are few and far between and Toronto is excedingly lucky to have the chance to see Mms. Millio not once but twice. Don't miss it!
