THE BOOK OF MORMON Sets Lottery Policy for Van Wezel Engagement

THE BOOK OF MORMON, winner of nine Tony Awards including Best Musical, is pleased to announce a lottery ticket policy for the National Tour, which begins Tuesday, February 9th at the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall in Sarasota, Florida and plays a limited eight- performance engagement through Sunday, February 14th. The production will conduct a pre-show lottery at the box office, making a limited number of tickets available at $25 apiece for each of the eight performances.

The British are coming! FST celebrates 20 years of Cabaret with the opening of its second Winter Cabaret show of the season, Yesterday. Developed by Richard Hopkins, Rebecca Hopkins, and Jim Prosser, the show opens in Florida Studio Theatre's Goldstein Cabaret on Friday, January 9, 2016.  Subscriptions for all three shows can be purchased for as little as $39. FST to Host 'Sixties Shindig' in February

Florida Studio Theatre will be hosting a "Sixties Shindig" on February 22 at 5pm in the Hegner Theatre Wing. This groovy gathering celebrates FST's ongoing campaign to support the Kretzmer Artist Residence Project and the presentation of this year's Jon Spelman Award to Ernie Kretzmer. The Sixties Shindig will bring together invited guests to join them in "havin' a gas" and taking in groovy live entertainment reminiscent of Laugh In comedy and various musical acts. The event will culminate in a seated dinner in the Court Cabaret, Bowne's Lab, and Green Room Cafe. Tickets are $250 per person with proceeds supporting the ongoing work of FST. Asolo Rep continues its 2015-16 season with quintessential American playwright Eugene O'Neill's sentimental comedy AH, WILDERNESS!, directed by Greg Leaming, associate artistic director of Asolo Rep and the director of the FSU/Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training. The Tony Award, Pulitzer and Nobel Prize winner's sole comedy previews on Wednesday, January 20 and Thursday, January 21 at 8pm, opens Friday, January 22 at 8pm and runs in rotating repertory through Sunday, April 10 in the Mertz Theatre, located in the FSU Center for the Performing Arts.

Combining both practices of the arts and grief counseling, Florida Studio Theatre and Tidewell Hospice present the Blue Butterfly Theatre Program. Running from January 23- February 27, the program is designed for teens age 13-18 dealing with grief of all forms.

Jobsite Theater starts the new year with a new collaboration with one of the world's greatest living dramatists. Israel Horovitz visited Tampa for a week this past February for a week-long residency culminating in a rehearsed staged reading of his play Sins of the Mother that featured a talkback and poetry reading with the award-winning writer, film-maker, and 'Beastie Dad' (he is also the father of Adam 'Ad Rock' Horovitz). He once again returns for the opening week of his play LEBENSRAUM that runs Jan. 8-31, 2016, in the Shimberg Playhouse at the Straz Center where Jobsite is resident theater company. Asolo Rep to Stage U.S. Premiere of HETTY FEATHER

Asolo Repertory Theatre proudly announces the final production of its 2015-16 season, the U.S. premiere of the U.K. phenomenon HETTY FEATHER, Jacqueline Wilson's wildly popular U.K. novel adapted into a thrilling theatrical masterpiece by Emma Reeves. A 2015 Olivier Award nominee for Best Family Entertainment, HETTY FEATHER will have one preview on Thursday, June 2 at 7pm, open Friday, June 3 at 7pm and run through Sunday, June 26 in the Mertz Theatre, located in the FSU Center for the Performing Arts. Asolo Rep's production will feature the entire West End cast, starring Phoebe Thomas as Hetty. Sally Cookson, who directed the West End production, will direct Asolo Rep's production.
