The Biggest Secret of Old Hollywood Exposed in 'The Voice Behind The Stars'

Old Hollywood's biggest secret will be exposed in the acclaimed cabaret, The Voice Behind the Stars, hitting Australian shores in January and February following a sell-out run at the 2018 Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

The Voice Behind the Stars tells the story of the most prolific ghost singer of all time, Marni Nixon, and reveals the truth behind some of the world's most loved movie musicals.

The best film diva the world (almost) never saw, Nixon dubbed for over 50 Hollywood films as the singing voice for the biggest movie stars of the time including Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe and Natalie Wood.

Nixon was forbidden from telling anyone what films she sang on and for whom. She lived her life in the shadows before an interview with Oscar-winning actress, Deborah Kerr (The King and I), led to her story being uncovered.

The Voice Behind the Stars will feature much-loved songs from West Side Story, My Fair Lady, The King and I and many more, performed by Australian actress and singer Eliza Jackson as Nixon.

Jackson said, "I am thrilled to be coming home to perform this self-written show that is incredibly close to my heart. Marni may not be very well-known, but almost everyone will know her voice. I can't wait to share her story with Australian audiences."
