Internationally Renowned Conductor Edo de Waart Returns to Sydney

By: Nov. 11, 2015
Internationally regarded as one of the greatest conductors of our time, Maestro Edo de Waart, former Chief Conductor of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, will be returning to Sydney this month to conduct the SSO in two magnificent programs.

"I have so much history and so many wonderful memories with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, so I always enjoy coming back to play with them," de Waart says. "I also really love being back in the city of Sydney."

Regarded as an "orchestra builder", de Waart has guided several orchestras to positions of importance on the world stage, including the San Francisco Symphony and the SSO. He currently holds the positions of Music Director of the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, Chief Conductor of the Royal Flemish Philharmonic and Conductor Laureate of the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra. It was recently announced that de Waart will become Music Director of the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra from March 2016.
