'Godot with Gals and Grenades,' DROPPED Gets Sydney Premiere

The Goods Theatre Company in association with Red Line Productions at the Old Fitz Theatre is thrilled to present the Sydney Premiere of Dropped by award-winning playwright Katy Warner.

Dropped is a darkly comic two-hander in which military traditions blend with broken hearts and just a hint of Beckett. Set in a room that is filling with snow, two women soldiers sift through the debris to find a sense of themselves amongst the memories and lies. They have been told to protect the base but it's been so quiet for so long and the vodka has run out, the radio is broken and the baby won't stop crying. Where to from here?

Dubbed 'Godot with gals and grenades', the show stars Olivia Rose (Arms and the Man, Gaybies, Packed to the Rafters) and Deborah Galanos (Misterman, House of Ramon Iglesia, Redfern Now) and is directed by award-winning director Anthony Skuse (Blood Bank, Punk Rock, Constellations).

Katy Warner is a young Melbourne-based playwright whose work has been presented at La Mama Theatre, Melbourne Fringe Festival, Melbourne Writers' festival, MKA: Theatre of New Writing, Theatre Works, Writers Victoria and Barking Gecko Theatre Company. She received the Best Emerging Playwright and Theatre Works Awards at the Melbourne Fringe Festival for her work These are the Isolate and she is a recipient of the Australia Council of the Arts' Art Start Grant to further develop her career as a playwright. Dropped was first performed as part of the Melbourne Fringe Festival in 2013 before being performed at La Mama in 2014.
