OLIVER! Comes to Göteborgsoperan

The homeless boy Oliver Twist lives a hard life. He is thrown between people and new situations, hope and despair. As soon as a friendly soul emerges, something forces him back down to the bottom. But even there is warmth and goodness, albeit in ambiguous form. Like the incarnate Nancy, who risks her life to help Oliver. And the raw skin Fagin, leader of the criminal gang that Oliver is tricked into. Who can be trusted?

Fredrik Benke Rydman, well-known founder of the pioneering dance company Bounce, has several acclaimed productions behind him. With a background in street dance, and an unfailing belief in children's abilities, he is the right person to give new blood toLionel Bart's affectionate musical about Charles Dickens beloved novelist. Benke Rydman and his team show the gap between the adult's distorted reality and the world in which the children live.

The premiere of the musical "Oliver!" took place in London's West End in 1960. The film version of the musical was rewarded with six Oscars in 1969. Now it is high time for a new "Oliver!".

Ticket will go on sale 23rd of April for the period of 14 of September 2019 to the 26th of April 2020
