The Sheldon Art Galleries Present Two Gallery Talks 11/16 & 11/20

The Sheldon Art Galleries presents two gallery talks this month in conjunction with its Fall exhibition schedule:

Tuesday, November 16, 2010, 6 -7 p.m. Rick Ege and John Foster
Rick Ege and John Foster will speak on their collecting philosophies and share insights into their objects, featured in the exhibition, Uncommon Objects/Personal Views. Both Ege and Foster are known individually for their exceptional eye for collecting unique and wondrous objects. This exhibit brings together rare works from their collections by American folk and outsider artists like Clarence and Grace Woolsey, Lee Godie, George Widener, Howard Finster and Henry Ray Clark, as well as unique found objects and pieces by anonymous visionary artists. Bellwether Gallery of St. Louis Artists, admission free.

Saturday, November 20, 11 a.m., David Travis
David Travis, recently retired curator of photography at the Art Institute of Chicago, educator and author of many books on photography will speak on the Group f.64, in conjunction with the exhibition Group f.64 & The Modernist Vision: Photographs by Ansel Adams, Edward Weston, Imogen Cunningham, Willard Van Dyke, and Brett Weston. Gallery of Photography, admission free.
The exhibition is provided by the Bank of America Art in Our CommunitiesTM program.
