By:

The Imaginary Theatre Company, the young audiences touring ensemble of The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis, will present a hysterical and modern version of Bah! Humbug! this holiday season. Adapted from A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens with book, music and lyrics by Jack Herrick, this 45-minute performance, suitable for all ages, is a musical adventure that reminds us of the true meaning of Christmas and the importance of giving.

Bah! Humbug! plays tonight, Dec. 13, 20, 22 and 23, at 11 a.m., as well as 3 p.m. performances on Dec 13, 20 and 21, at the Heagney Theatre on the campus of Nerinx Hall High School, 530 East Lockwood Avenue, Webster Groves. Tickets are $7.

"The Rep is honored to team up with Brown Shoe Company and the Monsanto Fund," said Steve Woolf, artistic director of The Rep. "We are thrilled that we can share our production of Bah! Humbug! with more audiences because of receiving this funding."

The Imaginary Theatre Company series includes three productions performed at schools, libraries and community centers throughout the St. Louis area October through April. The series introduces live theatre to children through the use of literature, folk tales, fairy tales and new adaptations of classic works and also includes special public performances.

"Brown Shoe Company is dedicated to being a good corporate citizen to the St. Louis community by supporting creative productions like this one," said Peggy Reilly Tharp, vice president, Investor Relations, Brown Shoe Company. "We applaud the messages in the program around generosity, kindness and friendship - important lessons for children of all ages."

"Live theater allows children to open their minds and imagine the unimaginable," said Deborah Patterson, president of the Monsanto Fund. "The Monsanto Fund is proud to support The Rep's Imaginary Theatre Company and commend its dedication to making this art form accessible to the young and young at heart."
