Due To Illness India Arie Will Not Perform With John Legend At Fox Theatre 6/30

By:

The Fox Theatre has just been informed by India Arie's management that due to illness and upon physician's orders India Arie will NOT be able to perform tomorrow night, Tuesday, June 30 at the Fox Theatre with John Legend.

This change does not affect John Legend's performance and he will go on as scheduled with special guest Vaughn Anthony opening the show at 7:30 p.m.

About the show: Having just completed his most successful international tour to date, the six-time Grammy Award winner will bring his show to over 50 cities in support of his chart-topping album EVOLVER. Known for connecting with fans during his dynamic live shows, Legend's concert will feature many of his biggest singles - from EVOLVER's "Green Light" and "Everybody Knows" to the classic songs from his previous albums - all backed by an extraordinary 11 piece band. Highlights of the tour include a stop at the Essence Festival in New Orleans and many of the best summer amphitheaters in the country such as the Greek Theater in Los Angeles, Chastain Park Amphitheatre in Atlanta, Mann Music Center in Philadelphia and Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, MD.

The summer tour comes after EVOLVER debuted in the #4 slot on the Billboard Top 200 Album chart late last year. A crossover sensation, EVOLVER has already reached the #1 position on America's R&B Album chart, #1 on the Album Retailer chart and #1 on the Digital Albums chart. The first single "Green Light" was a Top 10 hit on the Rhythmic Top 40 radio chart, while also reaching the Top 5 at Urban Mainstream Radio.

One of the top releases of 2008, EVOLVER is John Legend's first full-length studio album in two years. Guests on EVOLVER include Estelle, OutKast's Andre 3000, R&B/pop superstar Brandy and John's longtime collaborator Kanye West.

Songs on EVOLVER include the hit singles "Green Light" (featuring Andre 3000) and "Everybody Knows," as well as "It's Over" (featuring Kanye West), "No Other Love" (featuring Estelle), "Satisfaction," "This Time," "Cross The Line," "I Love, You Love," "Good Morning," "If You're Out There," and "Quickly" (featuring Brandy).

Special guest, Grammy winning singer/songwriter India Arie will open select shows on the tour. Her recent album Testimony: Vol. 2, Love & Politics, recently debuted at #3 on the Billboard charts.

John Legend will team up with non-profit, REVERB, to help "green" this tour. Their environmental efforts will include coordination with venues and local caterers to ensure and facilitate the use of green products and practice, along with neutralizing CO2 emissions from venue energy use, hotels, flights, and touring vehicles. The tour's "carbon footprint" was calculated by REVERB and neutralized by financially supporting the construction of new renewable energy projects such as wind farms. As well, eco-friendly merchandise options will be available for fans and the John Legend On-line Ridesharing Service will encourage and assist carpooling to shows. A John Legend Greening Website will include tips and calls to action for fans with prize incentives.

Everyone must have a ticket, regardless of age.
