BLACKPINK - consisting of JISOO, JENNIE, ROSÉ and LISA - is a globally recognized, iconic pop group from YG Entertainment. From the moment they burst onto the scene with their debut single album [SQUARE ONE] in August 2016, BLACKPINK has dominated the charts with smash hits like “DDU-DU DDU-DU” and “Kill This Love,” solidifying their status as the world’s top girl group.
BLACKPINK’s influence on the global music industry continued with their first full-length album, ‘THE ALBUM’ (2020), which topped charts worldwide, including Billboard rankings in the U.S. The album became the first by a female K-POP group to sell over a million copies, eventually surpassing 1.3 million. Following the success of their debut singles, BLACKPINK became the first Korean girl group to play Coachella Valley Music Festival, drawing a massive crowd for their first performance at the festival in 2019. They went on to become the first Korean act to headline the festival in 2023.
The girl group continued to shatter records with their second studio album, [BORN PINK] (2022). Selling 2.82 million copies, it earned BLACKPINK the distinction of being the first K-POP girl group to sell 2 million copies. The album also made history as the first by an Asian female artist to simultaneously top both the U.S. Billboard 200 and the U.K.’s Official Albums Chart, an achievement not seen in over two decades for any girl group worldwide.
Beyond chart success, BLACKPINK has redefined the touring landscape for K-POP artists. Their [BORN PINK] World Tour (October 2022–September 2023) spanned 34 cities with 66 shows, drawing a record-breaking 1.8 million fans—making it the highest-attended tour by a K-POP girl group. Including their headline performances at Coachella and BST Hyde Park, BLACKPINK performed to well over 2.1 million fans worldwide during the tour.
As global icons, BLACKPINK’s impact extends beyond music. Each member is a powerhouse in fashion and beauty, serving as ambassadors for luxury brands and shaping trends worldwide. Their collaborations with global pop stars continue to push creative boundaries, and their YouTube dominance remains unparalleled—their official channel boasts over 96 million subscribers, making them the most-followed music act on the platform.
