Anderson Artist Guild Member Craig Johnson will be the featured photography artist at the Electric City Playhouse in a show where he hopes to prove that the greatest beauty in life is usually found at home. He believes that one does not need to go to exotic destinations ten times zones away for inspiration, but it doesn't hurt. The ever-changing show, which starts February 14th and will run through March 31st, will include images taken in fifty countries.

Trustus Theatre Presents MAHALIA, 2/11-3/5

- Mahalia Jackson was referred to as 'The Queen of Gospel' by music listeners. Jackson became one of the most influential gospel singers in the world, and was heralded internationally as a singer and civil rights activist. Entertainer Harry Belafonte called her 'the single most powerful black woman in the United States'. She recorded about 30 albums during her career, and her 45 rpm records included a dozen gold records. Now, the incomparable Columbia actress Valdina Hall is taking the Trustus Main Stage as the gospel sensation in the biographical gospel-musical Mahalia. The show opens February 11 at 8:00pm on the Trustus Main Stage and runs through March 5, 2011.

At a festival celebrating the 78th birthday of the late Patsy Cline, held on the singer's front steps in Winchester, VA and judged by her surviving family and friends, Carol Glass thrilled the crowd with her amazing ability to sing like the country music star. Glass, who lives in Seneca and has performed Patsy Cline songs in area festivals and programs for the last seven years, brought back the title and the knowledge that her voice was the closest thing to those who knew Patsy best.

Community Playhouse Seeks Male Actor for THE DIARY OF ANNE FRANK

The Community Playhouse of Lancaster County in Lancaster, South Carolina is searching for (1) male (ages 25-45) to complete casting for the up-coming production of The Diary of Anne Frank running February 11-22 at Bundy Auditorium on the campus of The University of South Carolina at Lancaster. This is a secondary supporting role with a hand full of lines and minimal rehearsal commitment however, the actor must be available Feb 6-13 and Feb. 17-19.
