ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS ONSTAGE Comes to The Masque Theatre
Move over Kardashians! Get out of the way, Real Housewives of wherever! Eddy and Patsy are in town to show us how to really live life. A spot of shopping at Harvey Nichol's and a delicious nibble at Quags for lunch - and let's not forget the Bolly, darling.
Constantiaberg Theatre Players are proud to present a truly fabulous tribute show! That's right, the hilarious antics of Edina Monsoon and Patsy Stone will be brought to the stage in Absolutely Fabulous Onstage. The production opens on Friday 23 November at the Masque Theatre, Muizenberg. Be there or be square, darlings.
Leading the ensemble cast are two powerhouse performers: Bernie Jacobs as Eddy and Julie Summers as Patsy. Neither of them are strangers to the Masque audiences, with Jacobs directing Playing with Fire (2018) and the award-winning Equus (2017). Summers was last seen on the Masque stage in The Extraordinary Revelations of Orca the Goldfish (2016).
At the helm of this rather fabulous production is Faeron Wheeler - another familiar name at the Masque, sweeties. This is the second time Wheeler has directed a play at the theatre, her first being Silly Cow (2016). Wheeler is also responsible for the script adaptation for Ab Fab. She carefully selected four separate episodes and wove them together to form a storyline for this stage tribute.
Absolutely Fabulous Onstage is presented by Constantiaberg Theatre Players and opens at the Masque Theatre, Muizenberg on Friday 23 November. The production runs until Saturday 1 December, excluding Sunday to Tuesday. Come along for a good laugh, darlings, and don't forget to stay for a signature Patsy or Eddy cocktail at the bar.
