The New Groupwill soon present Jesse Eisenberg's Happy Talk, with Tedra Millan, Daniel Oreskes and Nico Santos joining, as previously announced, Marin Ireland and Susan Sarandon, in this world premiere directed by Scott Elliott. The New Group also announces two additional weeks for Happy Talk, with the limited engagement, previously slated through June 2, now extended through June 16. Previews begin April 30 in advance of an Official Opening Night on Thursday, May 16 at The Pershing Square Signature Center (The Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre, 480 West 42nd Street).

The New Group's critically acclaimed Off-Broadway revival of Sam Shepard's Pulitzer & Obie prize winning play, Buried Child, directed by Scott Elliott, will transfer to Trafalgar Studios in London for a strictly limited season from 14 November - 18 February 2017, with press night on 1 December. Social anthropologists offer that humans have four basic needs-survival, pleasure, security and territoriality. They also propose that we need to belong to some group or groups. Most commonly that of a family. Jesse Eisenberg in his play THE REVISIONIST hits on the needs and the desire for connectedness in his thought-provoking script.

Now onstage by the Aerospace Players through February 6, ANNIE GET YOUR GUN tells the story of sharpshooter Annie Oakley (Julie Hinton, a natural comedienne who perfectly inhabits the role) and her romance with Frank Butler (Stephen Cathers). Unfortunately, Cathers has no chemistry whatsoever with Hinton, and try as she might to entice him, their romance seems implausible and totally unbelievable. Without two solid leads who really appear to be in love, or at least attracted to each other physically, the musical lacks the spark needed to fuel the plot.
