East Bay funk, soul, and R&B legends Tower of Power have announced the release of It’s Christmas, their first-ever full-length Christmas album of their 56-year career available on all digital streaming platforms & CD on September 27th with vinyl released on October 25th.

The Museum of Modern Art announces To Save and Project: The 20th MoMA International Festival of Film Preservation, which will screen from January 11 to February 4, 2024.

For the third and final concert of its 50th anniversary season, New Amsterdam Singers, led by Music Director Clara Longstreth, will perform the world premiere of The Wave Rises by Ben Moore, a work commissioned by the chorus as part of its 50-year celebration.

Patrick Lung Kong will receive a Lifetime Achievement Award from Tsui Hark to open this nine-film series, with rare titles screened for the first time in New York. Drawing from a rich legacy of Cantonese films, while promoting a strong sense of singularity through his formal inventiveness, director Patrick Lung Kong (b. 1935) had a profound impact on following generations of filmmakers, including John Woo and Tsui Hark, and remains widely acknowledged as one of the great pioneers of Hong Kong cinema. To pay tribute to the achievements of this prodigious filmmaker, Museum of the Moving Image will present Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow: The Cinema of Patrick Lung Kong, a nine-film screening series featuring rare titles imported from Hong Kong, from August 15 through 24, 2014. The series is sponsored by the Hong Kong Economic Trade Office New York and presented with support from the New York Asian Film Festival/Subway Cinema.

The Film Society of Lincoln Center has announced the July and August lineup for Family Films with screenings of several of the most beloved Hollywood musical's of 40s and 50s starring classic silver screen icons, led by Gene Kelly, Frank Sinatra and Judy Garland!
